Dear Friends:
My Father, native null, Stanley H. Kohn, Esq. was SC General Counsel for Department of Social Services in 1985 when his life was taken by a premeditated killer. My Dad was “the children’s advocate”. He started the SC Volunteer Guardians ad Litem program back in the early 1970’s. He was influential implementing the child abuse and neglect laws in SC in 1974. My Dad lived to make this world a better and safer place for children.
This admitted killer also took the life of our father’s friend, Rosalind Allen. He evens boasted that he went back to the bodies and shot them in the head so there was no chance of survival. The killer was to serve 2 LIFE SENTENCES. He has now served 23 years. His 1st year was spent in a SC Dept of Mental Health facility attempting to prove incompetence. After failing that, Baker plea bargained for 2 life sentences rather than the death penalty. Our families and the Judge agreed to those terms.
His 5th parole hearing is scheduled for April 15 ,2010, so please, complete this form, send, email, or fax, it to the parole board - give the man what he asked for, 2 life sentences (we are forced live the life sentence he dealt
us!). We will again, be in front of that parole board to beg them NOT to release this killer. Please sign this form opposing parole/ asking the Parole board not to release this dangerous man into our free society. Jake the dog has been found!
Thanks to all who kept an eye out for Jake... the owners found the dog at the SPCA. They called and gave the microchip number, but it wasn't a match to any of the dogs that were brought in... the owners then went to the SPCA to double check and found Jake there! There was a mix up in numbers, so thankfully, Jake has been found! Thanks to Ken Fox for forwarding that email!

Hello all... This is the part that no one likes to listen to... asking for money when times are tight? Ugh... well, it's for a good cause, it's for YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD. It's really not for Twinkies and Mountain Dew, it's to pay for things like insurance (don't you hate paying for something like that, ugh) and for neighborhood beautification efforts and if there's a wee bit left, enough to go towards a neighborhood get together (and if there isn't enough left, we can all pitch in, right? bring a dish, bring a drink...). Anyway, in the 15 years I've been here the neighborhood association has done BIG things. Being a board member isn't an easy job, and it's not always a fun time, but they all do it and they keep the neighborhood going. (All without getting paid for it!). We need you to do your part. Please pay your membership and help keep the neighborhood the best it can be. You wouldn't believe how quickly it can go down without support from you. It's only $10 this year (owner) $5 (renter), it gives you the RIGHT to vote when important matter come up. Be proud of your neighborhood, it's awesome! Do your part today!
