TWO CAR BREAK INS on STOCKER DRIVE…

WARNING: LOCK YOUR CAR… Two cars were found on Stocker Drive early Sunday morning. In both cases a car door was left open. Luckily nothing was stolen.

Be sure to lock your car… you may want to leave a light on outside as a precaution…

TRIMMING CITY TREES…

Many of our beautiful oak trees that are on city property are being improperly groomed by individuals soliciting work in the neighborhood. DO NOT PAY TO HAVE YOUR TREE TRIMMED if it is on city property. Contact Danny Burbage (info below)… Much of the work is done by people who are not insured and do not have experience. The result of the work they do is devastating… Be sure to call the city BEFORE you have work done on a tree that is on city property. They do not want their trees (and they are the city's trees) being cut by inexperienced people.

This has happened to too many people in our neighborhood.

Contact Danny Burbage by email at burbaged@charleston-sc.gov or by phone at 843 724 7416!

STOCKER INCIDENT...

Remember to call if you see suspicious activity... that could be cars driving through that look like they don't belong and look like they might be casing houses... individuals who are loitering or lurking around without purpose... anyone who comes to your door and tries to sell you something without a peddlers permit from the City of Charleston OR who knocks on your door if you have a NO SOLICITING sign (I made one with a sticky, works like magic!) or anyone you just don't feel good about... call the police...
(Below info updated 1:45PM 9/12/12)

At 3:15 this AM (9/12/12) a house on Stocker that someone ringing their doorbell on very aggressively it stopped and then started again. They didn't see anyone on the front porch or in the yard... They called the police, but the person(s) were gone by the time they arrived. Please be on the lookout and help your neighbors...

I think it's time to leave your lights on... Front and if possible backyard as well... better safe than sorry!

ALL IN ONE RECYCLE BINS

This is a reminder to be sure you put your all in one recycle bin out by the road facing the correct way so that the robotic arm on the truck can pick it up. WHEELS and HANDLE should be facing your HOUSE. There must be a 3' clearance, so don't put it close to a mailbox, tree, car, etc. for more information visit the Charleston County Recycle page or the Old Windermere Facebook page...

Hello all! Just a reminder that there will be an Old Windermere Neighborhood Meeting tomorrow eve (8/8/11) 6 PM at the Horticulture Center in South Windermere... From John Mulvey's email:
2 key items on the agenda:

1. We will be devoting on an amendment to the bylaws to change the number of members on the board from 7 to 5.

2. Most of the properties between Wesley and Folly in the triangle area are requesting to have the zoning changed to be included into the Savannah Hwy overlay district. We will be voting on the official position for the neighborhood.

I hope that you can make it. As many of you know this has been an issue in the past. I respectfully ask that everyone be respectful, mindful and polite with views and opinions... We will try to keep the meeting concise.

Message from OWNA board. Need your help this Saturday 3/29/11!

The message below is from the Old Windermere Neighborhood Association board, many of you have received this email. To those of you who haven't, here you go... Be involved and help out this Saturday morning... I know Fred has done it several times during the heat of the summer. The plantings at first seemed like a great idea, but we quickly saw how much work it was going to take to maintain. I know Margaret Mays has been out there weeding as well. I pick up trash and sweep and it's never ending... PLEASE JOIN OWNA this Saturday!

Hello All,

This is a little last minute, but we were getting some people together to do a little maintenance and beautification on the Flowerbeds at Stocker and 17 and the Memorial Park on Beverly at 8:45 on Saturday.. If you can lend a green thumb or a bad back we would appreciate it. Nothing too large, we are going to do some weeding, plant a couple of plants, spread some fertilizer and put down some mulch. It shouldn't take toooo long or be that labor intensive. We are going to get meet at 17 and Stocker at 8:45 on Saturday. Please let me know if you can help, or if you decide last minute or feel guilty driving by please join us.

I know there are some old emails on this list and we will have it cleaned up shortly, so if you received this email and are not living here anymore we miss you and I apologize for the email clutter.

Thanks,

OWNA Board
